What we do

Work in schools to help teachers review, reflect & improve their practice.

Here are some examples of what we have done with schools;

Observed class teachers, using non-judgemental criteria to identify which teaching strategies teachers most commonly use in their lessons and compare this to what pupils state they find most helpful.

Interviewed underachieving pupils to find out what motivates them.

Helped schools and teachers to set-up their own research projects.

Provided practical workshops on different teaching strategies that can be used across all phases of education. Led INSET training on matching teaching strategies to learning needs.

Work for research projects based at universities, or similar educational institutions and local education authorities.

As part of research teams we have undertaken interviews with varieties of staff in schools across all phases and all over the UK.

Our observations have contributed to various printed publications and to research reports providing information for the Department for Education and Science amongst others.

Work for market research agencies who wish to undertake research in schools or with teachers or children. Interview, moderate discussion groups and arrange recruitment for research.

If you are considering undertaking research with teachers or in schools we will recruit them for you. We can recruit from across the UK and Eire, both for qualitative and quantitative projects.

We are also available to undertake research in schools, interviewing and moderating as required. We can create research instruments to required specifications.

If you require advice concerning undertaking market research in schools (how to go about it, what incentives to offer, what to avoid and other FAQ) take advantage of our experience and save yourself unnecessary time and trouble.

Provide consultancy on setting up a research project in education or with schools.

We are able to offer mentoring advice and consultation to individual teachers and schools.
